Add: Question from Question Bank

This topic covers how to add an existing question from a question bank.

  1. Select Tests & Quizzes from the left sidebar.

  2. Select the My Test Library tab.

  3. Select the test to which you would like to add questions.

  4. Hover over the Add New button, and select Question from Question Bank from the drop-down menu.

  5. A list of all available question banks will display. Select the name of the question bank that contains the question you wish to add. In order to add a question from a list of your own questions, select My Questions.

  6. You can perform a quick text search to filter available test questions by key words, by entering at least three (3) characters into the text box that is found just above the question list.

  7. To filter the available test questions by standard, select the Filter by Standard button.
    • If your school has multiple standard sets, you can select a standard set at the bottom.
    • Additionally, you can type a keyword in the search field at the bottom right to find a specific standard.
    • Select the checkboxes to the left of the standard(s) by which you would like to search test questions.
    • Click the green Submit button to view any questions that match your criteria.

  8. Select the blue Filters button to open a pop-up window with additional filtering options:
    • Keyword: Enter a keyword or keywords separated by commas in the box.
    • Question Type: Select the type of question you would like or choose All types from the drop-down menu. You can also select Print Only to view questions that are compatible with printing, or Online Only to view questions that are compatible with online testing.
    • Linked Questions Only (check box): Checking this box will display only linked questions when the filter is applied. Also, Linked questions will display together in the Question Bank.
    • Subject Area: Select a subject area from the drop-down menu.
    • Grade Level: Check the box next to each grade level you would like, or use Select All at the top
    • Learning Style: Check the boxes next to Linguistic, Logical and/or Visual.
    • Taxonomies: Move the sliders to determine the range for each set of taxonomies.
    • Click the green Filter Questions button to filter questions in the question bank by your selected criteria.

  9. If you decide that you would rather search in a different question bank, you can select the Select Bank button that is found to the right of the Filters button.

Note: If you select a question bank that does not match your test's grade level/subject, you will be unable to view any questions. Instead you will see a No Questions message.

Note: In order to view search results in a question bank that does not match your test's grade level/subject, you would need to first change your test's grade level and/or subject settings to match the grade level and/or subject settings of the question bank you are searching in. For more information on how to edit test settings, please see Edit: Test Settings.

  10. To add an individual question to your test, select the blue plus symbol (+) to the left of the question. A green check mark will appear next to the question you selected and a message in green (at the top of the list) will alert you that you have successfully added a question to your test.

  11. If you would like to add all the questions from the question bank, you can select the blue plus symbol (+) in the left hand corner of the question list header, which will allow you to select all of the questions at once.

Note: If you choose to add all of the questions from the question bank, you will not be able to undo this action. Please make sure to read the pop-up warning before proceeding.

  12. Once you have added all of the questions from the question bank, you will see a green check mark next to each question and a message in green displaying the total amount of questions added to your test.

  13. Once you have finished adding questions from question banks to your test, select the blue back arrow that is found to the left of the Filter By Standard button to return to your test.
