This topic covers how to create and edit preset standards scales for the school.
- Select Settings from the left sidebar.
- Select the Standards Scales tab.
- To the right of Pre-Sets, select Add New from the drop-down menu.
- If you would like to map your standards scale to your school’s grading scale, you can select the desired grading scale from the drop-down menu next to Map to Grade Scale. Otherwise, select None.
If you choose to map your standards scale to a grading scale, you will need to align the standards scale to your selected grading scale.
- Enter the name of your standards scale in the field to the right of Scale Name.
- Enter the max value of your standards scale in the field to the right of Scale Max Value.
- In the field to the right of Mastery Score, enter the score at which students will be considered to have “mastered” a standard.
- In the GRADE column, enter the grade values for your scale, along with the corresponding LOW and HIGH ranges for each grade value.
- Next to each grade value, enter a grade description and select a color.
- Click Add Row or Drop Row to add or remove rows from your standards scale.
- At the top of the page, you can select Limit teacher options to the following custom standards setting options to only allow teachers to use standard scales that you have created.
- At the bottom of the page, you have two additional options for your standard scale:
- Lock the following options for this scale: Check this box to lock the options for calculating standard scores and adjusting the default standard display.
- Update class scales for the following grading period: Check this box to update class standard scales for the grading period you select in the drop-down menu to the right.
- Click the Save Settings button to save your standards scale.
