Append Standards Set

Administrators can create custom standard sets for use in standards tagging and tracking within your Engrade account. Custom standard sets, including state, county, district, or school standards, can be adapted for use in Engrade. This topic describes how to append existing standard sets.

  1. Hover over Apps on the top navigation bar, and select Standards from the drop-down menu.

  2. On the Manage Standards Sets page, select the name of the standards set you would like to edit.

  3. Hover over the Append Standards button and select either Single Subject or Multi Subjects from the drop-down menu.

  4. On the Append Standards page, click this template to initiate a download of the standards CSV upload template.

  5. Fill in the CSV template with the standards you wish to add to the selected set.

    • The standards upload CSV template has nine columns. Each standard should occupy exactly one row in the CSV template with information for each of the required columns entered on that row.
    • Engrade recognizes individual standards by their unique standard ID numbers. When creating new standards, be sure to create new standard IDs.
    • See the Create Standards Set topic for more information on adapting a standards set to the upload CSV template.

  6. If you are using a Windows computer, save the file as a Comma Separated Values (.csv) file.

  7. If you are using a Mac computer, you will need to save your CSV file in a slightly different format. If you use the default Comma Separated Values (.csv) file format, you may be unable to upload your file.

    • Open the file in Excel, and select File and Save As.
    • Under Format, select Windows Comma Separated (.csv) from the drop-down and save your file.

  8. Once your file is complete and saved to your computer’s hard drive as a .CSV, select Choose File on the Append Standards page.

  9. Select the appropriate file from your computer.

  10. If you selected the Single Subject option, you will need to select a subject from the Subject drop-down. If you selected Multi Subjects, the subjects will be included as part of your CSV file.

  11. Click the green Submit button to append your standards set.
