Edit Custom Fields

This topic covers how to create custom student data fields for use in tracking additional student data.

  1. Select Students from the left sidebar. 

  2. Hover over the Options button, and select Set Custom Fields from the drop-down menu.

  3. In the pop-up window, enter a title for each additional student field you wish to track through Engrade (up to 20). You can also edit existing fields in this pop-up window, if necessary.

  4. Check the box next to Field Required? to make the custom field required when adding/editing students. 

  5. If there is a specified character length, you can enter either a number (i.e. 2) or range (i.e. 1-3) in the Length field.

  6. If desired, select a character Type and/or case. You can select from the following options:
    • Numeric
    • Alphanumeric
    • Uppercase Alphanumeric
    • Lowercase Alphanumeric
    • Alpha
    • Uppercase Alpha
    • Lowercase Alpha

  7. Click the green Save Custom Fields button to save your new fields. The custom fields will be added to each student’s Info tab.
