Add: Passage to Question

This topic covers how to add passages to questions.

  1. Select Tests & Quizzes from the left sidebar.

  2. Select the My Test Library tab.

  3. Select the name of a test to open it.



  4. To add a new question, hover over the Add New button, and select Question from drop-down menu.

  5. Alternatively, to add a passage to an existing question, hover over the gear icon to the right of the question you wish to edit, and select Edit from the drop-down menu.



  6. Select + add passage to add a passage to the question.



  7. Check the box to the left of the passage(s) you wish to add to the question, and select the green Add Passage(s) button.
    • To filter the available passages, select a subject area and grade level using the drop-down menus at the top left of the window. Then, click the Update Filters button to re-filter the list.
    • To view a passage before adding it to the question, select View to the right of the passage.



  8. Alternatively, you can create a new passage by selecting create a new passage at the top of the window.
    • Enter a title for your passage in the Title field.
    • Select a Subject, Min. Grade Level, and Max. Grade Level from the drop-down menus.
    • Enter the text of the passage in the Content field.
    • Select any additional tags.
    • Click the green Add passage button to add the passage to the question.

  9. Next, choose the appropriate bubble next to the vertical or horizontal icon to make your layout selection. This is how the passage will appear alongside the question text while students are completing the question.



  10. If you wish to add more passages to the question, select + add passage underneath the name of the passage you added previously.

  11. Select the green Save Question button at the bottom to save the question with the newly inserted passage.
