Edit Grading Period

This topic covers how to edit a grading period. A grading period's school year and gp # values should not be edited or changed if the grading period already contains student/class data. 

Depending on settings for your district, school administrators may not be able to adjust the dates or create additional grading periods.

  1. Select Grading Period from the left sidebar.

  2. Hover over the gear icon to the right of the grading period you wish to edit, and select Edit from the drop-down menu.



  3. In the pop-up window, modify any of the following information for your grading period:

      • School Year: Select the desired school year from the drop-down menu.

    WARNING: Do not assign a new school year to a grading period that already contains student and/or class data. 

      • Grading Period: Select the desired grading period number from the drop-down menu.

    WARNING: Do not assign a new grading period number to a grading period that already contains student and/or class data

    • Start Date: Select the appropriate start date.
    • End Date: Select the appropriate end date.
    • Visible to teachers, students and parents: Check this box if you would like the grading period to be visible to teachers, students and parents in their accounts.
    • Visible to school admins: Check this box if you would like the grading period to be visible to school administrators. 
    • Visible to district admins: Check this box if you would like the grading period to be visible to district administrators. 
    • Hide classes from students until a specific date: Check this box to select a date on which students will have access to their classes.
    • Default this grading period for new classes?: Check this box to make this grading period the default grading period for all newly created classes.



  4. Click the green Edit Grading Period button to save your changes.
