This topic covers how to edit custom codes, which allow you to set letter designations that—when entered into the Gradebook—will calculate as specific percentages.
- Select Settings from the left sidebar.
Select the Custom Codes tab.
Enter your codes in the left side column. Custom Codes may be 1-2 uppercase letters.
Enter the desired percentage values in the right column. Percentage values must be numeric. The percentage value should be the highest possible percentage of each mark. For example, if you want a student between the percentages of 51 and 85 to receive an “S,” you will give “S” an “85” in the percentage value box.
Alternatively, if you would like a custom code that excuses students from an assignment, you can enter E (for Exempt) into the Value (%) field. Assignments that receive this score will be excused from the overall grade calculation for that particular student.
Click the green Submit button at the bottom of the page to save your codes. Teachers will then be able to enter these letter codes into their Gradebooks in lieu of numeric grades.
