Create: Graphing Question

This topic describes how to create a Graphing question type. Graphing questions allow students to plot a point, line or circle onto a graph.

  1. Select Tests & Quizzes from the left sidebar.

  2. Select the My Test Library tab to see your tests.

  3. Select the name of a test to open it.

  4. To create a question, hover over the Add New button, and select Question from the drop-down menu.

  5. Select Graphing from the Question type drop-down menu.

  6. Enter the question information:
    • Question text: Enter your question here.
    • X-axis: Enter a label, minimum value, maximum value and interval for the x-axis.
    • Y-axis: Enter a label, minimum value, maximum value and interval for the y-axis.
    • Axes Options: Select Hide Line Intervals to remove the line intervals from the graph that students view when testing.
    • Correct answer: First, select the desired format for the correct answer. You can select Point, LineCircle or Ray. You can then plot the correct answer on the graph.
    • If you need to undo an action on the graph, select the Undo icon.
    • If you wish to clear your entire answer and start over, you can select the Clear icon.
    • Options: Select Limit student entries to restrict the number of points students can plot on the graph. The number of points they are allotted will depend on the number of points in the correct answer. For example, if the correct answer has 2 points plotted on the graph, students will be allowed to graph a maximum of 2 points.
    • Passages: Select +add passage to add a passage to the question.

Students will only be able to graph the type of item you select. For instance, if you select Line as your desired answer format, students will only be able to graph a line.

  7. Select the desired Scoring type from the drop-down menu.
