Search: Question Bank

This article covers how to search a question bank as a district administrator. Within the question bank you will be able to preview, edit, delete or share questions. 

  1. Select Tests & Quizzes on the left sidebar.

  2. Select the My Test Library tab.

  3. Hover over the Item Banks button, and select Question Bank from the drop-down menu.

  4. A list of all available question banks will display. Select the name of the question bank in which you would like to search in. In order to search through your own questions, select My Questions.

  5. Your My Questions bank will display all of the questions that you have created or have been shared with you.

    • Select the question text to preview the entirety of the question in a pop-up window.

  6. Use the search bar and/or filter buttons to quickly locate specific questions in the bank:

    • Filter by Standard: filter available questions by standards.

    • Filters: filter available questions with advanced filtering options.

    • Search Bar: Perform a keyword search

  7. Select the Filters button to reveal a drop-down menu with advanced filtering options:

    • Keyword: Enter a keyword or keywords separated by commas in the box.
    • Question Type: Select the type of question you are searching for from the drop-down menu. You can also select Print Only to view questions that are compatible with printing, or Online Only to view questions that are compatible with online testing.
    • Linked Questions Only (check box): Checking this box will display only linked questions when the filter is applied. Also, Linked questions will display together in the Question Bank.
    • Subject: Select the appropriate subject area from the drop-down menu.
    • Grade Level: Check the box next to each applicable grade level.
    • Learning Style: Check the boxes next to Linguistic, Logical and/or Visual.
    • Taxonomies: Move the sliders to determine the range for each set of taxonomies.
    • Click the green Filter Questions button to filter the question bank by the selected criteria.

  8. Select the Filter by Standard button to filter available questions by standard.
    • If your school has multiple standard sets, you can select a standard set from the drop-down menu at the bottom.
    • Additionally, you can type a keyword or standard ID in the search bar at the bottom right to find a specific standard.
    • Click the checkboxes to the left of the standard(s) by which you would like to filter your bank.
    • Click the green Submit button to view any questions that match your criteria.



  9. Use the search bar by entering in the first few letters or keywords of a question:

  10. Once you have located questions, you may be able to edit, delete or share them. You can perform these actions on a particular question by hovering over the gear icon to the far right of a question.
    • If you have been given Edit or Manage permissions to the question, you can edit or delete the question. You may also share the question with other users.
    • Click directly on Edit, Delete, or Share to perform these actions.

  11. Use the back arrow or the Select Bank button to navigate back to a list of all available question banks.

  12. If you access other available question banks, you will be able to preview the questions.  You may also be able to edit, delete or share questions from those question banks, provided you have been given Edit or Manage permissions to those questions.

  13. If you've selected a question bank from another Owner, the far right column will display a padlock icon for each question.  You will not be able to edit, delete or share these questions.

  14. Select the question text to preview the entirety of the question in a pop-up window.
