View WVEIS Attendance Logs

Engrade sends attendance data to WVEIS daily. Depending on district requirements, attendance data may be sent approximately every hour, up to several times a day. This topic describes how to view WVEIS attendance logs.

  1. Select WVEIS Logs from the left sidebar.

  2. On the Attendance Logs tab, you can view recent attendance files. These files contain information about the last attendance sync. The attendance logs will also contain any errors due to inconsistencies between WVEIS and Engrade. The attendance logs are listed with the date, time, school name and audit file title. The title of the audit file contains “ATT” (for Attendance), the district code, school code, and date/time (PST).

  3. Select the title of the audit file to view the report. The audit file displays the date and time of the specific attendance sync. The file also lists the teacher names, course numbers, section numbers, student names, IDs, class periods and corresponding attendance marks from the last sync. Only students marked absent or tardy will be listed.

It is possible that not all absent or tardy students will be listed in this report. Some students may be included on the previous or next sync.

  4. At the end of the report, totals for each attendance type are displayed. Additionally, the report shows the number of teachers, students and classes included in the last sync.

  5. Select ATT to the right of an audit file to view the report that is sent to WVEIS. This report shows all data sent, including date and time of pull, course name and number, teacher and student names, and marks sent.

  6. If errors regarding sent attendance marks are reported by WVEIS, they will display in the error file. Select the number listed in the last column on the Attendance Logs tab, under the Error (triangle) symbol. This report contains the date/time, teacher names, course numbers, section numbers, student names, IDs, class periods and corresponding error descriptions.

If any errors exist, they must be resolved within WVEIS. Errors cannot be corrected within Engrade.
